HSBC Group CEO, Georges Elhedery’s statement regarding events affecting the GCC countries

Our thoughts are with all those affected by current events. HSBC remains steadfast in our confidence in the GCC and in the long-term strength, resilience and promise of the region. Our conviction in the GCCs’ fundamentals and its future is unchanged. The region has repeatedly shown its ability to endure periods of disruption, adapt with determination, and emerge stronger. We continue to believe that the years ahead will bring renewed stability, growth, and prosperity. HSBC has been deeply committed to the region for more than 130 years. We remain invested in its future and in the opportunities that lie ahead for its people, businesses, and economies.

Fraud alert

Beware of fraudsters using the national alert as an opportunity to mislead the public. If you get a call from a private number claiming to be from government authorities such as the Qatar Police, Ministry of Interior or Ministry of Defence, hang up. Never share your Qatar ID, bank details or any personal information. 

Always verify requests through official government channels. Please do not delete our app based on instructions from anyone else.

Other notices

Stay safe on your mobile

To help keep your accounts safe, you can set up the HSBC Qatar mobile app only on one mobile device at a time. If you already have it on multiple phones or tablets, you can still use them. But, if you remove the app from one and try to install it on a new device, you’ll see a ‘Device limit reached’ error. To delink a device, select your profile in the app > Go to Security > Select Manage devices > Find the device to be delinked and select Delete. If you only have the app on one device and it’s lost or broken, call us on 4441 1550 to delink it.
