Fawran payments

Fawran is an instant payment service which allows you to send and receive payments using a Qatar mobile number, IBAN or alias. It's a quick and easy way to send money locally 24/7 to your friends and family in Qatar.

• Be aged 18 years or older
• Have an HSBC account
• Be the guardian of a minor who holds an account with authority to operate their account
• Be registered for online banking with access to the HSBC Mobile Banking app
• Have a valid Qatar mobile number registered in your name and updated in our banking records. If you want to update your mobile number registered with us, please contact us or visit a branch

You'll be automatically registered for Fawran with the IBAN for each of your Qatari Riyal payment accounts.

You can also register for Fawran in the HSBC Mobile Banking app using your registered mobile number, your IBAN or an alias of your choice.

Once complete, we'll send an SMS to your registered mobile number to confirm Fawran is now active.

• Only Qatari Riyal (QAR) accounts can be used as a default currency for transfers
• The limit per transaction is QAR 25,000 
• The daily transfer limit is QAR 100,000

Download or open the HSBC Qatar app, go to 'Pay and transfer' and select Fawran to register.
