Hexagon Features
Account Information
Hexagon provides access to all your accounts, whether they are held with HSBC or with another financial organisation. In addition to the latest available balances, Hexagon offers you full statement information that can be tailored to your exact requirements.
Report Writer
Your account information can be quickly and easily printed using the flexible Report Writer service, or you can export the information using one of the many industry standard formats supplied.
Data Interface
Data interface allows account details to be exported in a variety of formats. This enables Hexagon to act as a true financial link between the bank's computer systems and your own back-office accounting packages. With the inclusion of a new format in Report Writer, Hexagon is now able to export data to SAP's R/3 system. The new SWIFT MT940 export format for balance and statement information has officially gained accreditation from SAP AG and Hexagon is on their list of partner systems.
Unattended Operation
To save you time, Hexagon includes an unattended download option. You simply set the time that you want to download your account information before you leave the office at night. Your information will be waiting for you when you arrive at your desk the next day.
Transfers between accounts and payments to third parties are easily achieved in more than 60 currencies anywhere in the world. Both domestic and overseas payment options are available. You can easily import payment batches from your own back-office accounts packages, removing the need to re-key payment information and ensuring the integrity of your instructions.
A new import format has been added to Hexagon to allow the import of payment instructions from SAP's R/3 system. The inclusion of a SWIFT MT100 import format has been extensively tested and installed. Commonly used instructions may be saved as templates and then used again and again. Through the Hexagon AutoPay feature you can also make bulk payments such as salary and supplier payments with ease.
Import
With the import option, you can easily create and amend your documentary credit (DC) applications. The ability to complete your applications off-line, using specially designed templates, makes significant savings in processing time and reduces input errors.
> Frequently used applications can be stored for future use, saving time and the amount of data needing to be re-keyed. You can also import DC applications from your own systems.
Exports
Hexagon gives you the ability to view outstanding documentary credits and bills in summary or in a more detailed format, including interest details, where financing has been requested. Coupled with account information, companies are able to track the whole export process from the point when the documentary credit is opened or bill is presented through to when settlement is made.
Information is essential if you are to remain competitive in today's fast-moving markets. Hexagon provides access to a wealth of market information, including stock-market prices and foreign exchange rates from financial centres around the world. A market commentary is also available, giving you instant access to the informed opinions of experts on all aspects of economic activity.
A securities service is available in some countries/territories, providing customers with a means of automating settlement instructions and order placements. This includes a portfolio management facility, enabling the viewing of up-to-date positions and valuations on securities holdings.
Recent corporate announcements affecting your account holdings are highlighted on the screen, and the details of each can be accessed easily. Customised reporting of account portfolios can be created to provide a summary screen indicating the status of your chosen securities.

Delegate Control
Before an individual can access Hexagon, their system security manager must first register them as a delegate. Each delegate can be granted, or denied, permission to access each Hexagon service, as well as the authority to authorise transactions.
Each Delegate has a unique user identifier and password to access the Hexagon software, and a further session password is required to communicate with the bank.
In-built System Security
The data held on the PC is encrypted so that your accounts cannot be accessed without a Hexagon Delegate identifier and password. Hexagon uses the HSBC Group's Global Data Network, the largest private system of its kind in the world, and data encryption to ensure trouble-free and secure communication wherever you are in the world.
Audit Trail
