Global Markets Qatar provides customers with an expert, personal and local services that gives our customers the opportunity to manage risk. It provides customers with a high quality services for a wide range of products ranging from basic foreign exchange and interest rate protection instruments, to exotic products and liquidity management product and instruments.

The Corporate Sales Desk
The corporate sales desk assists clients in managing their risk exposures so as to minimise the impact of market volatility on the company. This includes analysing the business/balance sheet structure of the company and quantifying the net exposures in terms of interest rates, foreign exchange, mismatch in cash flows, and so on. Based on the risk appetite of a client, hedging strategies are then tailor-made to suit the client's needs.
Up-to-date market information and research, a wide range of hedging products and a team of qualified treasury specialists are some of the main features of the corporate sales desk.
FX & Money Market Desk
All FX risk for the region is centrally managed in Dubai by a team of experts.
There is a team dedicated to making markets in the Middle East currencies and is a leading liquidity provider, servicing both internal and external customers. The regional desk also quotes prices in precious metals like Gold & Silver and on the money market desk is the Bank's contact with the international and local interest rate markets. It provides the customer with the best interest rates available as well as managing the Bank's interest rate exposure.
The desk also provides USD/QAR spot and forward rates for corporate and interbank customers.
The Institutional Sales Desk
The institutional sales desk assists financial institutions across the GCC to manage their balance sheets by providing solutions to enhance yields on their assets and reduce costs of their liabilities. The product range is vast and ranges from vanilla fixed income sales to structured notes to more complex structured credit transactions. The team also assists local banks in the region back out their FX and Interest rate hedges with their corporate clients. The desk provides all investors with specific debt requirements related to any market across the globe, coupled with extensive research on individual debt issues, commentaries.
